Lyreco Keep Gold
Lyreco Ireland were delighted to recently receive notification that they have retained their ETP (”Excellence through People”) accreditation at the gold standard. ETP is the national human resource management standard for Ireland. An organization gaining the accreditation is one that can be described as operating to the very highest levels when it comes to managing its people.
The ETP Gold Award covers the following core criteria:
- Business planning and quality improvement
- Effective communication and people involvement
- Leadership and people management
- Planning of learning and development
- Training and life long learning
- Review of learning
- Recruitment and selection
- Employee wellbeing
Lyreco had to demonstrate to the assessors that it met all the above criteria and had evidence to support this. This was then validated when a number of people were interviewed to see if what we claimed we were doing was actually happening.
Typical employee comments received during interviews included:
- They ‘look after you - this is a fair and firm company’.
- ‘Training for everything’
- ‘Training does make a difference’
- The organisation’s ‘values mean something’
- ‘Open door policy does work’
Having achieved a very good score of 675 at the last assessment in 2005 it was fantastic to achieve 686 in 2007. Ian Lawson Training & Development Director said “This is a great result for Ireland. Independent assessors have witnessed good practise taking place and the investment in people has been reflected in the improved business performance. Everybody in Ireland should be very proud of this achievement”.
