"THE AMBITION FOR LYRECO IS to CLEARLY PROMOTE ENVIRONMENTal PRESERVATION AND SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT WITH OUR PARTNERS".
OUR APPROACH
In line with our Group Strategy, we continue to improve our practices within the interdependent components of economic development; environmental preservation and social progress.
We will also update our approach to Corporate Responsibility, publishing a new targeted strategy to reflect local market requirements and to align to our business goals from 2010 to 2015.
Lyreco has been highly committed to working sustainably for many years, focussing initially on reducing environmental impacts. More latterly, with changes to the market place, we continue to align ourselves to the requirements of our customers and make more demands of our suppliers in areas such as trading ethically and purchasing responsibly.
Working in a sustainable way points to evidence that businesses may benefit from a healthier bottom line and longer term business success. In turn, this benefits employees, suppliers, manufacturers and local economies. This view is pivotal to our new Corporate Responsibility Strategy.
Environmental Preservation:
• Lyreco manage their environmental impacts in a structured way and has operated an ISO14001 certified management system since 1998.
• Lyreco has won awards for it's environmental performance: Green Apple Award 2006, 2007 and 2009.
Economic Development:
• Lyreco is a private group and takes pride in providing the highest standard financial transparency and reliability for its stakeholders.
• In 2010 Lyreco launched a supplier code of ethics to define how it will work with suppliers and how it expects to be worked with.
SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
• Lyreco signed the Global Compact in 2004 to demonstrate our commitment to the 10 principles of Human Rights, Labour standards and Environment and Anti-corruption.
• Standards are upheld through our supplier contracts and contracts of employment.
• Lyreco began a social audit programme in 2009, auditing manufacturers of our own brand products to ensure that standards within our contracts of supply and code of ethics are being upheld.
